After all the formalities are out of the way, such as the initial discussions, quote and deposit invoice, the fun then begins.
We follow a process which we have implemented to streamline our website projects. This process may differ from company to company, but the basics are the same.
There are 7 phases and each phase require client interaction and sign off to move onto the next phase.
The first step is to gather information about you and your organisation. Many things need to be taken into consideration when the look and feel of your website is created.
It involves a good understanding of you-what your business does, what you want to achieve, the target audience, type of content, your competitors and how the web can be utilized to help your business or organisation.
This is where we put together a plan for your website called the site map. This serves as a guide as to what content will be on the site, and is essential to developing a consistent, easy to understand navigational system.
During the site architecture phase, we will also help you decide what technologies should be implemented. Elements such as interactive forms, ecommerce, flash, etc. can be incorporated into the plan.
Once we know what you want to put on your site, we’ll create a basic outline design of where things should go.
Here we can test that elements are positioned correctly, the navigation works and that you are happy with the basic content.
Now we have an idea of all the elements, we’ll create one or more creative designs for your web site – typically just the homepage to start off with.
Colour Cymru will work closely with you to develop your chosen design and produce further pages before handing over to our developers to build your site.
The developmental stage is the point where the web site itself is created into a fully functional site, utilising all the design elements, copy and functionality you’ve agreed.
At certain stages Colour Cymru will make the site available to you for viewing, so that you can suggest any additional changes or corrections you would like done.
We will test things such as the complete functionality of forms or other scripts, as well last testing for last minute compatibility issues (viewing differences between different web browsers), ensuring that your web site is optimised to be viewed properly in the most recent browser versions.
We’ll also check to be sure that all of the code written for your web site validates and meets the current web development standards.
When everybody is completely happy with the project, we launch it to the outside world. But that’s not the end – it’s just the beginning of a relationship to help your business grow through intelligent digital marketing and SEO.
